Syndication

The concept of social bookmarking has also taken advantage of alternative means of retrieving and sharing of data. RSS--or really simple syndication--makes it possible to retrieve bookmarks using third-party applications, and even re-publish these on external websites. This makes sharing of information easier, and also lets new updates disseminate faster. RSS also makes automatic notification whenever new resources or sites are added by people within one's network of contacts.
